Universal Works

Universal Works creates contemporary clothing with a focus on real, honest design. Founded in 2009 by David Keyte, who started from his kitchen table, the brand emphasises well-fitting, thoughtfully crafted garments that are never over-designed. Inspired by David’s upbringing in a working-class Midlands town in the seventies, where he admired his family’s workwear and weekend attire, Universal Works also draws on his experience as a sign-writer’s apprentice in the eighties and his thirty-year career in the fashion industry, working with names like Paul Smith and Maharishi.
