In 1949, Mitsugu Tanabe founded the Tanabe Meriyasu factory in Fukui, Japan, driven by his passion for baseball and inspired by American post-war baseball stockings. He created high-quality baseball stirrup stockings, even inventing machines for superior craftsmanship, and later supplied training wear for the 1964 Japanese Olympic team. Today, the Jackman brand continues Tanabe's legacy, crafting each piece in the original factory using vintage machines that, while slower than modern ones, ensure enduring quality and honor Tanabe's commitment to excellence.
